Parents and Teachers
We were interested in parents with newborns and elementary-aged kids and found a unique perspective on the pandemic when we spoke to parents who are teachers. We interviewed two teachers, one that had a newborn a few weeks after quarantine began, and another that has four kids, including three in elementary school and one toddler. When quarantine first started teachers had to make the switch from in-person to online just like students. Many teachers with kids also had to handle their teaching life with their kids' education all at once. We talked about the many struggles they have faced and how they had to cope with them throughout the pandemic and also take care of their kids. We wanted to shed light on the many teachers that struggled just like everyone else throughout this time because sometimes students do not really see them as people.
