“Right now I'm waiting on a couple of potential job offers that are sort of in process. This is what's been affected by covid-is that pretty much no one's hiring. And so what they've done is they show up to fairs and stuff and they'll be like “hey you probably want a job” and we're like “yeah” and they're like “okay we're not hiring, but we think you're great.” … So I have some things that might work out, but I'm just learning to be patient.”
“It’s definitely a lot harder, you're never in a in a situation where you're spontaneously next to someone else the same in the same class. So you have to plan it and be like “everyone click on this zoom link at the same time!”, and that happens less frequently than just organic meetings that tend to happen in person.”
“Sometimes I'll notice that my head is hurting because I've been staring at my laptop screen and then straight from there to my small phone screen, and then it's straight to my TV screen. In fact, I can see three screens from where I am right now. It's like, which of these screens are we looking at next, you know?”

"I got emails of some news letters from like the university saying like the mental health things and like some requirement tests or like. Just surveys that we have to fill out, but like, I don't think that's enough. Yeah. Yeah. They're not doing enough. Yeah. Especially since like the five most common mental health challenges that students face are usually depression, anxiety, suicide. Some people get eating disorders and obviously COVID has made that worse. I was just like giving them a survey or like giving them a link that they can follow to learn about mental health, "

Maryan Shire: I feel like what I usually do is try to like talk out about it with my friends and trying to like, see what the issue is. But I don't, I haven't really found any resources to like help me on campus. Just yet, I feel like I'm not comfortable yet, but I feel like maybe if I'm comfortable enough, I'll be able to do it.

"I actually managed to be in FAB this year and I'm in the freshman ambassador board and through that, actually I have met so many new people and I'm so. Grateful that actually went out of my comfort zone to join an organization. Uh, the university of Utah, because I have met so much people in there that I thought I would never know because I had online school and just restrictions"
"I wasn't like able to make, like, manage to maintain it throughout COVID because, uh, yeah, people, I would say that meeting up with people and then getting to hang out with them can keep the relationship going"
"So I am in the process of exploring like different majors and different, like. Careers at heart and seeing what I am actually like passionate about and what I want to do. So I haven't really looked into the future so much because I'm more worried about the present, like what I want to do."
